Frequently asked questions

The questions advisory firms ask us most, answered plainly. Can't find yours? Ask us directly.

Where does our client data live?
In Canadian data centres. Advirra runs in the AWS Canada (Central) region in Montreal, and client data doesn't leave the country — not for backups, support tooling, or analytics.
How does moving our existing book work?
Everything imports into a staging area first, so you review exactly what will be created and changed — household by household — before anything touches your live book. Advirra ships mappings for spreadsheets, Redtail, Wealthbox, and Maximizer, and a real person runs the migration with you.
Do we need someone technical on staff?
No. Onboarding is done for you, not handed to you as a self-serve wizard: we migrate the book, configure your intake forms and workflows, and stay reachable during business hours. The firms we build for don't have an IT department and shouldn't need one.
Is the CRM really under our own brand?
Yes. Advirra is white-label — your logo, colours, and email identity across the whole product. Your clients see your practice; we stay in the footer.
Is our data separated from other firms?
Each firm gets its own isolated instance with its own database and its own encryption key that only your instance's role can use. You are not sharing a database table with anyone.
Who at Advirra can see our client data?
No one has standing access to it. Sensitive identifiers like Social Insurance and government ID numbers are encrypted with your instance's own key before they reach the database, and every change to a record is audited — who, what, and when.
What does it cost?
$75 CAD per user per month, or $750 per user per year (twelve months for the price of ten), plus a one-time $1,500 setup that covers migration and concierge onboarding. Applicable GST, HST, or QST is added at checkout.
What happens to our data if we leave?
It's yours. After cancellation you get a full export window, and once it closes your instance's data is permanently deleted. No hostage-taking, no per-record export fees.
Does Advirra work for Quebec firms and Law 25?
Advirra was built with PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25 in mind: Canadian residency, a per-change audit trail, and clean data export and deletion. It doesn't replace your own privacy officer or legal counsel — it's built so the tooling isn't the weak link.
How do we get started?
You enter your firm's details and check out — paying your one-time setup fee and first month reserves your onboarding. Then we reach out within one business day to run it: setup, data migration, and go-live. Have questions first? Ask us through the contact page; no call is required before you buy.
Is the setup fee refundable?
The setup fee and first month are non-refundable. Paying is your commitment to onboard, and it covers the provisioning and concierge work that begins right away. If something genuinely goes wrong, reach out and we'll look at it case by case.
